Did you say five months?
Hello fellows, how are you? Now we are all probably back to school and work and we are starting to get into our old habits. It's always hard to go back to school after a long break but I managed to get into it pretty good. And since the end of the break, I've had some very exciting things happening to me so lets get to it.
First of all...SWIMMING IS OVER! HALLELUJAH (I just learned how to spell hallelujah so I'm very happy about that. I never know where to put the H)! I had five more practices after the break, that ended up being just three practices (I was sick for one and then one got canceled), and then two meets. I can tell y'all that I will NEVER join a swim team again. Never. I'm glad I did it, because since I got through one swimming season (without knowing flip turns and having to teach myself the crawl), I can now do anything. But, I couldn't be happier that I no longer have to wake up at five in the mornings and jump into the pool.
I think I chocked most people back at home when I decided on joining the swim team, not really what people had expected. I hadn't either. But I'm here to try new things, right?
So, last weekend, I got the opportunity to go to something called Honors Chorus with some kids from my school. Basically there's people from different schools in the area, meeting up for two days and learning three songs, and then performing it together. It was amazing. It was kind of tiring singing for two days straight, the same three songs, but it was all worth it. The concert was such an amazing experience, I loved it. We were around 200 people in the choir I think, clapping and singing. I wish you could have seen it.
This past week, another fun thing happened. Last semester I entered a writing competition at my school, and this week I found out that I won! I think around 100 people entered the competition. You had to interpret "block" into your story, however you wanted, and then the English teachers at Chamblee read all of the stories and picked a winner. I'm so happy.
Also, this past Wednesday (the 13th) was the mark of me being in America for five months. I can't believe that time has gone by so fast, and at the same time I have five months left. Time is such a weird concept.
I'm planning on doing the best of these last months as well. For example I'm trying out for the soccer team nest week, so wish me good luck!
Puss och Kram
